Perhaps not wanting to let his son Enrique get all the young fans, Julio Iglesias has enlisted songwriter-producer Robi Rosa to write three songs and produce a total of five on his next album. Rosa has been behind the majority of songs on Ricky Martin’s last three albums, including “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” “Marie” and “Vuelve” on Martin’s current smash. . . .

Having completed treatment for a cancerous growth on his neck, John Prine has finished “In Spite of Ourselves,” an album of classic country duets recorded with a cast of female singers including Emmylou Harris (Jack Clement’s “I Know One”), Trisha Yearwood (Roger Miller’s “When Two Worlds Collide”), Lucinda Williams and, on five songs, Iris DeMent. It’s due from his own Oh Boy Records on Sept. 14. . . .

With Burt Bacharach teaming a lot with Elvis Costello, the former’s longtime lyricist Hal David hooked up with English singer Dot Allison, who had been with the trend-setting electronic dance act One Dove. Several songs they teamed on will be on Allison’s solo debut, “Afterglow,” due from Arista on Aug. 24. . . .

English electronic pop group the Sneaker Pimps are working on a second album, but without singer Kelli Dayton, who had a falling out with the group. Guitarist-songwriter Chris Corner has taken over lead vocals, with the album due in October. . . .
