2 Women Suffer Minor Injuries in Traffic Accident
The Jaws of Life were used to free a driver trapped in her vehicle after two cars collided Friday, but both drivers escaped with minor injuries, police said.
The accident occurred about 2:30 p.m. on Shoup Avenue south of Strathern Street.
The cars were traveling in opposite directions on Shoup when they apparently sideswiped each other, said Officer Celeste Thiel of the Valley Traffic Division.
Briefly trapped was Helen Valenzuela, 22, of Woodland Hills, who was treated for lacerations at Northridge Hospital. The other driver, Stephanie Green, 55, of Woodland Hills, was taken to West Hills Hospital. She had complained of chest pain and was also treated for forehead abrasions.
