Sutton Pitches Shutout in Debut

Rookie goalkeeper Greg Sutton recorded a shutout in his first Major League Soccer appearance and the Chicago Fire scored both of its goals short-handed in a 2-0 victory over the San Jose Clash before 13,141 at Chicago Saturday night.
Sutton had five saves for Chicago (7-6) after replacing starting goalkeeper Zach Thornton in the 23rd minute. Thornton was disqualified for a handball outside the box, receiving a red card for the first time in his MLS career.
Lubos Kubic scored the winning goal in the 33rd minute when he beat goalie David Kramer of San Jose (8-6) with a one-timer off a feed from Josh Wolff.
New England 3, Tampa Bay 2--Joe-Max Moore scored twice and assisted on a third goal for the Revolution (7-7) as it defeated the Mutiny (6-7) before 11,256 at Tampa Bay.
Moore broke a 2-2 tie with a low shot from 16 yards that banked in off the left post in the 81st minute.
Colorado 2, Dallas 1--The Rapids reclaimed first place in the Western Conference with a victory over the former first-place occupant before 11,112 at Denver.
Colorado (9-3) has won nine of its last 10 and overtook the Burn (8-7) by one point. Jorge Dely Valdes, who assisted on the first goal of the game, scored the game-winner in the 78th minute.
