The Zodiac gave up two late goals and lost to the El Paso Patriots, 2-1, in an A-League soccer game Saturday in El Paso.
Justin Sells started the comeback for the Patriots with a solo scoring effort that began at midfield. Sells brought the ball into the penalty area, cut back to shed two defenders and beat goalkeeper Mike Littman with a shot to the near post in the 83rd minute.
Four minutes later, Raul Moreno ran onto a long pass from Salvador Mercado, confronted two defenders who were positioned to block the near post and launched the game-winner into the left side of the goal.
The Zodiac (8-6) had taken a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute, when Steve Patterson scored on a header from the penalty spot.
