Inglewood Morningside 53, Harvard-Westlake 46--Kamesha Bell had 15 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Monarchs (21-9) to an upset victory over the top-seeded Wolverines (26-5) in the Division III-A title game.

Morningside freshman Donnisha Sanford scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Acheve Barre had 15 points and 12 rebounds and made five of six free throw attempts in the final 32 seconds to seal it.

Sanford’s nine rebounds give her 285 this season, a school record for a freshman.

The Wolverines shot 30% (16 for 53) from the field, committed 13 turnovers overall and were outscored, 17-11, in the third quarter as the Monarchs pulled away from an 18-18 halftime tie.

Harvard-Westlake forward Omelogo Udeze scored a game-high 23 points and 16 rebounds, but she made only six of 18 shots from the field. She was 11 of 12 from the free-throw line.

Morro Bay 53, Cerritos Valley Christian 29--Sophomore guard Karena Bonds made 10 of 16 shots and scored 21 points for the top-seeded Pirates in the Division IV-AA game.

Leeane Jensen added 10 points and seven rebounds for Morro Bay (21-7), which won its first section title.

Jamila Veasley had nine points and 11 rebounds for Valley Christian, which was seeking its 11th championship.

Pilgrim 64, Apple Valley Christian 60--Phyllis Wang’s layup with 40 seconds left in overtime broke a 60-60 tie for top-seeded Pilgrim in the Division V-A final.

Freshman Amber Cunningham had 26 points and 11 rebounds and Tiffany Tomyoy added 12 points for the Patriots (25-2).

Bethany Bracy had 24 points and 15 rebounds and Sara Osterkamp added 19 points and 16 rebounds for Apple Valley Christian (22-2). Warrior guard Allie Mortimore forced overtime when she scored on a putback with 10 seconds left in regulation to tie the score, 53-53.
