DANA POINT
Residents who don’t mow their overgrown lawns will have 30 days to do so before the city does it for them. The city is again enacting a weed abatement program to clear dry, overgrown vegetation that is considered a public nuisance and a potential fire hazard. The City Council approved spending $20,000 to have contractors clear weeds on neglected property but will seek compensation from property owners, adding the charge to their tax bills.
