CBA Guard Signed as Backup

Share

With point guard Sherman Douglas being put on the injured list for the second time this season Tuesday, the Clippers looked to the Continental Basketball Assn. for help and came up with free agent Troy Hudson, who signed a 10-day contract.

Douglas will have to sit out the next five games because of quadriceps and groin injuries. He joins fellow point guard Pooh Richardson on the injured list. Richardson must sit out three more games before he’s eligible to be activated.

Hudson, a 6-foot-1 guard from Southern Illinois, was playing with Sioux Falls in the CBA when the Clippers called. He will back up Darrick Martin, who played all but seven seconds of the Clippers’ win at Minnesota on Sunday.
