Twenty years following its inception, the Venice Art Walk continues to thrive as more than 50 artists open their studios and homes this weekend to benefit the Venice Family Free Clinic. This weekend’s itinerary includes docent-led tours of architecturally significant homes, art exhibitions, a contemporary art auction, food fair, children’s art center, musical performances and special receptions. The silent art auction and preview exhibition will offer works by 350 artists, including Ed Ruscha, John Baldessari, Dale Chihuly and David Hockney.

Parking is available at Walgrove Elementary, 1630 Walgrove Ave. and Broadway Elementary, 1015 Lincoln Blvd. Shuttle service will be provided. An opening night “Evening of Music” will be held Friday at private residences and will feature performances by Clayton Haslop and Ayke Agus and Keiko Matsui. Tickets are $100. Five architecture tours will be held from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $120 and advance reservations are required. The silent art auction preview is scheduled for Saturday from 4-6 p.m.; bids will be accepted Sunday, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The main artwalk will be held from noon-5 p.m. Sunday. The 1923 Buster Keaton film “Our Hospitality,” an elegant farce about feuding Southern families (a takeoff on the Hatfield-McCoy feud), and the 1917 Charlie Chaplin short film “The Immigrant” will screen at the 1920s-era Alex Theatre as part of the “Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra’s 10th Anniversary Silent Film Gala.” London-based conductor-composer Carl Davis will lead the orchestra in his original scores.

The Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride Celebration may seem like a fairly niche-specific event--but in fact, there’s something for almost everybody. Four outdoor stages will feature country, Latin, rock, blues, jazz and pop music--not to mention dancing, stand-up comedy and gourmet food vendors. And everyone loves a parade, right? This one is Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

The small theater that has won kudos for staging big musicals on its compact stage presents “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” the sly and spicy satire of big business by Frank Loesser, Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert.

The fourth annual BayWalk and KelpFest will help support the efforts of Santa Monica BayKeeper, an environmental organization whose purpose is to protect the Santa Monica Bay. The BayWalk involves a 5K/10K walk along Santa Monica Beach. Participants are encouraged to pick up trash along the way. Those who raise at least $50 in sponsor donations receive goody bags filled with environmental products and the event T-shirt. A free breakfast will be served to participants. The KelpFest is a festival that will include educational displays, food, music and arts and crafts.

* BayWalk and KelpFest will be held adjacent to the Santa Monica Beach parking lot. Parking is at the 2030 and 2600 beach lots located where Ocean Park Boulevard ends at the beach in Santa Monica.
