Saugus 48, Burroughs 40--David Parker completed 25 of 38 passes for 348 yards and five touchdowns, and he intercepted a pass with two minutes remaining to preserve the victory at College of the Canyons.

Burroughs’ Joe Kroells completed 22 of 44 passes for 361 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 100 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown.

The teams combined for 51 second-half points and 1,242 yards. Saugus (7-2, 3-1) had 641 yards; Burroughs 601.

Burroughs (2-7, 0-4) trailed, 21-6, at halftime, but scored on five of its first six possessions in the second half.

Brett Draimin rushed for 146 yards in 12 carries for Saugus, including a 11-yard touchdown that gave the Centurions a 42-32 lead with 5:46 remaining. Saugus scored 35 seconds later on a 37-yard pass from Parker to Nathan Steele.

Keith Jarbo had eight catches for 178 yards for Burroughs.
