Duggins, Sutherland Lead Fullerton to Division II-A Victory

Lauren Duggins had 30 kills and Ashley Sutherland had 35 assists to lead visiting Fullerton to a 15-12, 15-7, 11-15, 17-15 victory over Ocean View in a Division II-A first-round girls’ volleyball match Tuesday.
Fullerton (11-6) advanced to play Norwalk Glenn in the second round Thursday.
Allison Nofziger had 14 kills for Ocean View (15-2).
In another Division II-A first-round match:
Pacifica 3, Temple City 0--Dana Larson had 12 kills for Pacifica (13-2), which won 15-8, 15-3, 15-8 and advanced to play second-seeded Lakewood St. Joseph.
In Division I-A:
Mater Dei 3, Woodbridge 0--Top-seeded Mater Dei (14-1) won 15-9, 15-3, 15-6 and advanced to play Silverado.
El Dorado 3, Whittier California 0--Nancy Sweet had 10 kills for El Dorado (15-1), which won 15-5, 15-9, 15-2. El Dorado advanced to play Simi Valley Royal.
Huntington Beach 3, Sunny Hills 0--Third-seeded Huntington Beach (15-4) won, 15-4, 15-1, 15-10 and advanced to play Corona.
San Clemente 3, Kennedy 0--Kimberly Noble had nine kills for San Clemente (14-6), which won 15-6, 15-13, 15-6. San Clemente will play San Bernardino Cajon in the second round.
University 3, Riverside North 0--Melissa Zapiain had 13 kills for University (12-5), which won, 15-11, 15-6, 15-10. University will play Sultana.
In Division V-AA:
St. Margaret’s 3, Ontario Christian 0--Top-seeded St. Margaret’s (16-1) won, 15-7, 15-4, 15-0 and advanced to play Desert Christian.
In a Division II-AA wild-card match:
El Modena 3, Los Amigos 1--Larissa Rex had nine kills for El Modena (9-6), which won, 15-9, 15-2, 13-15, 15-12. El Modena plays at fourth-seeded Cypress Thursday.
