An Earthquake Rocks New York; Diana Rigg Returns as a Sleuth

An all-star disaster thriller, a religious drama about Jesus and Mary, a retro look at the cast of “The Partridge Family” and a mystery thriller starring Burt Reynolds are among the movies on tap for this weekend.

Vincent Spano and Lea Thompson headline “The Unknown Cyclist,” Saturday at 8 p.m. on Starz. Spano plays a homophobic New York cop who ends up riding a bike in an AIDS fund-raiser at the request of his dead twin brother.

Eve Gordon heads the cast of ABC’s “Come On Get Happy: The Partridge Family Story,” Saturday at 9 p.m. The drama offers a behind-the-scenes look at the popular 1970s sitcom.

Burt Reynolds returns as Det. Logan McQueen in the TNT thriller “Hostage Hotel,” Sunday at 8 and 10 p.m. Keith Carradine stars as the bad guy.

Joe Mantegna and Sam Rockwell star in Showtime’s “Jerry and Tom,” Sunday at 8 p.m. The mob comedy deals with two unconventional hit men who double as used-car salesmen.

Charles S. Dutton, Sharon Lawrence, Lisa Nicole Carson and Cicely Tyson star in the four-hour CBS thriller “Aftershock: Earthquake in New York,” Sunday at 9 p.m. The drama follows the aftermath of a powerful earthquake that leaves New York in ruins. The conclusion airs Tuesday at 9 p.m.

Pernilla August and Christian Bale star in the religious drama “Mary, Mother of Jesus,” Sunday at 9 p.m. on NBC.

Supermodel Elle Macpherson plays Joey’s new roomie on NBC’s “Friends,” tonight at 8.

On the new four-part series “Intimate Strangers: Unseen Life on Earth,” tonight at 8 on KCET-TV, scientists attempt to discover how all human life on Earth is related.

Diana Rigg, who hosts PBS’ “Mystery!,” plays a classy amateur sleuth on the series in “The Mrs. Bradley Mysteries,” tonight at 9 on KCET and KVCR.

On the new Cartoon Network show “Mike, Lu & Og,” Friday at 8 p.m., an exchange student from New York learns about life on a tropical island. Following at 9 p.m. is the new animated series “Courage the Cowardly Dog.”

The premiere episode of the new historical program “Treasures of the World,” Friday at 9 p.m. on KCET, focuses on the 1911 theft of the “Mona Lisa.”

Billy Joel debuts a classical music piece when he appears on a special two-hour edition of Bravo’s “Inside the Actors Studio,” Sunday at 5 and 9 p.m.

PBS’ “Nature,” Sunday at 8 p.m. on KCET, presents the history of “Horses.”

“SportsCenter of the Decade,” Friday at 4 p.m. on ESPN, profiles the memorable athletes of the ‘90s.

“Pete Peterson: Assignment Hanoi,” Friday at 10 p.m. on KCET, explores how the former POW is working toward reconciliation as U.S. ambassador to Vietnam.

The Discovery Channel documentary “City of Steel: Carrier,” Sunday at 8 p.m. and midnight, follows the seven-year construction of two aircraft carriers.
