3 Teens Sought in Armed Robbery
Three teenagers are being sought by police following an armed robbery Friday at a supermarket in Garden Grove.
Two of the teenagers entered an Albertsons store on Katella Avenue shortly after midnight Friday and began taking beer and liquor from the shelves, police said. When the teens tried to flee without paying, they were confronted by supermarket workers and a struggle ensued near the door, said Lt. Frank Hauptmann.
A third teenager who had remained outside fired a single shot, narrowly missing an employee but breaking the storefront window. One employee was treated for minor cuts from the broken glass.
The teens fled on foot. The stolen bottles were recovered, Hauptmann said.
