Westlake 50, Agoura 6--Julian Lambert scored three touchdowns in the Warriors’ 29-point first quarter to help clinch the league title outright. It was Westlake’s first title since 1994.

Lambert scored on runs of eight, 10 and 30 yards as Westlake (9-1, 6-0) scored on its first five possessions to take a 36-0 lead with 8:12 to play in the second quarter.

Quarterback Zac Wasserman completed eight of 12 passes for 167 yards and a 15-yard scoring pass to Chris Catalano late in the first quarter. Wasserman later threw a 45-yard scoring pass to Josh Golden in the second quarter.

Lambert finished with 83 yards in eight carries.

Michael Brignac added a 45-yard punt return for a touchdown in the second quarter for a 45-0 lead.

Agoura (2-7-1, 0-6) averted a shutout when Chris Denove connected with Andre Woodert on a 12-yard pass late in the third quarter. Denove completed seven of 26 passes for 88 yards.

Royal 24, Simi Valley 22--Royal linebackers Marshall Montaveri and Lee Martin stopped Pioneer running back Calvin Bell on a two-point conversion attempt with 1:05 left in the game at Moorpark College to preserve Royal’s third consecutive victory in the cross-town rivalry.

Bell had led a Simi Valley comeback with a 62-yard punt return for a touchdown and two-yard scoring run on a left-side sweep in the fourth quarter. However, he was turned back by the Highlander defense on the same sweep play in an attempt to tie the game.

Royal (4-6, 2-4) had gone ahead 14-0 in the first quarter on Randy Plue touchdown runs of 29 and three yards. The Highlanders held a 24-0 halftime lead after quarterback James Cox snuck in from one yard and Evan Kay kicked a 36-yard field goal. Each score came after Pioneer fumbles.

Simi Valley (1-9, 1-5) started its comeback with a 20-yard scoring pass from Ben Santiago to twin brother Julian on a fourth-and-10 play with 1:49 left in the third quarter.

Plue gained 128 yards in 21 carries.

Ben Santiago completed 16 of 38 passes for 180 yards. He had one pass intercepted in the end zone in the fourth quarter.
