Now here’s a sister act worth watching.

Hana and Ina Kim, sisters who live in Encino and attend different high schools, took the top two places in the Southern Section Girls’ Golf Championships on Tuesday at Mission Lakes Country Club.

Hana, a senior at Brentwood High who has signed with Northwestern, shot one-under-par 71 to win on a blustery day in the desert.

Ina, a junior at Harvard-Westlake, shot 74 to tie for second with Kim Kowabunpat of Upland and Hwanhee Lee of Cerritos, then won a three-way playoff.

Krystal Shearer of Alemany, who lost a playoff for first in the 1998 finals, shot 75 and tied for fifth.

Beth Allen of Nordhoff shot 77 to tie for 10th and Alexis Arnold of Hart shot 78 and tied for 16th.

Hana Kim hasn’t played a full round of golf in more than a month because Brentwood does not have a girls’ team. She competes with the boys in the spring.

She birdied her first three holes in the shotgun tournament, was four under through six holes and was five under and bogey-free through 16 before a bogey, triple-bogey finish.

She hit her ball into a tree on the par-five ninth hole, her last, waited the allowed five minutes, declared a lost ball and returned to the tee.

While she walked past the tree toward her second tee shot, a gust of wind dislodged the first ball, but the penalty already applied.

“This is totally unexpected,” she said. “I haven’t been out on a course for four weeks.”

Ina Kim, who had 36 putts in the team finals Monday, struggled with the putter again.

“I don’t think I broke 35 putts again,” she said. “I had one birdie and it was a two-putt on a par five.”

Shearer, who has signed with UCLA, was five-over on the par-three holes, two-under on the rest.

“I hit some good shots but I also got in some trouble,” Shearer said. “I don’t like trees and I don’t like par threes . . . hey, that rhymes.”

Sara Jones of Hart shot 85, then won a six-way playoff for the 50th and final spot in the CIF-WSCGA Championship at the SCGA Members’ Club.
