BOYS’ WATER POLO PLAYOFFS

In another Division II quarterfinal:

Saddleback 13, Laguna Beach 12 (double overtime)--Ivan Gonzalez scored the winning goal with 2:43 left in the second sudden-death overtime period for host Saddleback (25-3). Ethan Damato tied the score for Laguna Beach (19-8) with 17 seconds left in regulation. Jose Montes scored five goals and goalkeeper Art Colchado had 13 saves for Saddleback.

Los Alamitos 7, Buena Park 6--Third-seeded Los Alamitos (21-6) took a 6-5 lead at the end of the third period and Danny Coltrup scored to put the game away with 4:30 remaining. Kyle Harriman cut the Griffins’ lead to 7-6 with less than two minutes remaining and the Coyotes had a chance to tie it in the closing seconds on a two-on-one break. But a bad pass was taken by Los Alamitos goalkeeper B.J. Ploessel, who finished with eight saves. The Griffins will play Corona del Mar in the semifinals. Buena Park ended the season 19-10.

In a Division VI quarterfinal:

Brea Olinda 12, Los Altos 6--The fourth-seeded Wildcats advanced to the semifinals to play Rowland Heights Rowland on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. San Antonio College.
