Canyon 28, Arcadia 14--Short-handed eight players because of grades, Canyon started seven sophomores and upset the No. 4-seeded Apaches at Arcadia.
Sophomore Mark Barr had 170 yards in 33 carries and junior fullback Colin MacNeil had 93 yards in 17 carries and scored on two one-yard runs.
Canyon (4-7) finished with 343 yards in 71 carries. The Cowboys scored in each quarter.
Quarterback Julio DeLeon had 72 yards in 18 carries and scored the Cowboys’ first and final touchdowns to build a 28-7 lead early in the fourth quarter.
Arcadia (6-5) was hurt by three turnovers and the loss of senior running back Quincy Williams, who reinjured a knee on the third play.
