West Covina South Hills 28, Los Amigos 6--Ryan Leadingham needed only three yards to break the South Hills school passing record and he did it on the first time his team had the ball at Covina District Stadium.

Leadingham, passed for 245 yards and three touchdowns, got the record on a 33-yard pass to Frank Trejo. The drive stalled momentarily at the Los Amigos one when South Hills was flagged twice for holding.

But on second-and-long, Leadingham passed 23 yards for a touchdown to Jason Murray with 1:40 left in the first quarter.

“Coach [Steve] Bogan put a game plan together that would take advantage of the middle of the field and we attacked it,” Leadingham said.

South Hills scored for the second time with 8:38 left in the half when Leadingham passed for three yards on a quick out to Murray. The play was set up by a 45-yard yard punt return by T.K. Mathews.

The Huskies made the score 21-0 with 8:56 left in the third quarter when Leadingham passed 13 yards to a wide open Brandon White. Leadingham and White hooked up again for a successful two-point conversion.

Los Amigos scored its touchdown 45 seconds into the fourth quarter on a five-yard run by Aoatoa Sualua.

Sualua rushed for 104 yards in 17 carries and finished with 1,390 and 15 touchdowns this season.
