A celebrity benefit for the Penny Lane home for abused teenagers will be held Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Beverly Hills Woman’s Club.

Actors Bruce Weitz (“Belker,” “Hill Street Blues”) and Alex Kingston (“ER”) and actor-director Forest Whitaker (“Bird,” “Waiting to Exhale”) will read from “The Voices of Our Children” written by current and past Penny Lane residents.

Penny Lane, founded in 1969, serves seriously emotionally disturbed “hard-to-place” children and teens in residential treatment, foster care and transitional housing.
