Another petition asking the City Council to curb fishing at Village Pond Park was filed Tuesday.
Resident Dianne Weirick collected more than 50 signatures from neighbors asking the city to ban fishing in the park.
Last month, another group of about 40 residents petitioned the city to bar barbed fishing hooks and to impose a “catch and release” rule in the park.
Both groups hope to prevent injuries to ducks, turtles and humans from discarded hooks.
