PLACENTIA
Valencia High School’s 2-year-old TigerUp program has been awarded the prestigious California School Boards Assn.’s Golden Bell Award. The program links school staff members as partners with students who are planning to be the first in their family to attend college.
Students are helped to plan their high school academic program, fill out college applications and get one-on-one attention from a mentor. They are also taken on field trips to colleges to get acquainted with what lies ahead for them.
