Titans Cruise to Men’s Soccer Victory

Ricky Melendez scored in the second minute and Colby Jackson had a goal and an assist to help Cal State Fullerton defeat San Diego State, 5-0, in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s soccer game Friday in front of 1,850 at Fullerton.
Kris Hulgreen had two assists and Art Ramirez, Shaun Higgins and David Dischner each scored for Fullerton (12-3, 4-1 in conference). San Diego State is 4-10, 0-3.
In another conference game:
UCLA 1, UC Irvine 0--Martin Bruno scored late in the second half for host UCLA (12-1, 5-0). Irvine is 6-9, 1-2.
In Big West Conference women’s volleyball:
Cal State Fullerton 3, Idaho 1--Sophomore Katie Crawford had a career-high 23 kills for the host Titans (6-16, 2-7), who won, 15-6, 15-7, 10-15, 15-10. It was the first time Fullerton has defeated Idaho since 1985.
Idaho is 13-9, 4-5.
