Hard to believe that it’s been 40 years since TV first entered that fifth dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity called “The Twilight Zone.” To mark the anniversary of the show’s premiere on Oct. 2, 1959, the Hollywood Entertainment Museum will host an “Exploring the Twilight Zone” celebration. On hand will be Marc Scott Zicree, who wrote “The Twilight Zone Companion,” as well as actors who appeared in some of the 156 episodes.

The new album from English electronic music pioneers the Pet Shop Boys is titled “Nightlife,” but for this occasion it could be called “Fright Nightlife.” The duo’s Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre stop will take the form of a Halloween party, complete with spooky attractions and a slate of DJs preceding the concert proper.

Day of the Dead gets the creative juices flowing for Johnette Napolitano, the former Concrete Blonde leader. Lili Barsha’s critically acclaimed “Haunted Cabaret” is back for its sixth year.
