CITY SECTION

Kennedy 21, Sylmar 20

David Contreras missed a 36-yard field-goal attempt with 1:16 left and Sylmar’s state-record league winning streak ended at 69 games.

Belmont 21, Wilson 10

Armando Velasco completed a 66-yard touchdown pass play to Jose Alvarado and returned an interception 99 yards for a touchdown for the Sentinels.

Bell 17, Jordan 14

Abraham Robles of Bell intercepted a pass at the Eagles’ 10-yard line with 27 seconds left to preserve the Eastern League victory.

Garfield 28, Huntington Park 9

Henry Polanco rushed for 272 yards and a touchdown and Erik Nava passed for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead the Bulldogs to the Eastern League victory.

Jefferson 14, Fremont 7

Jason Brown gained 131 yards in 13 carries and scored on a 36-yard touchdown run to lead the Democrats to the Coliseum League victory.

Westchester 47, Los Angeles 0

Byron Miller recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for a touchdown and also returned an interception 64 yards for a score for the Comets.

Poly 10, Hollywood 9

David Valencia ran for the winning two-point conversion in the third quarter to give the Parrots the Sunset Six League victory.

Granada Hills 21, Chatsworth 14

Tristan Frazier scored what proved the winning touchdown on a seven-yard run with 2:16 to play in the third quarter at Chatsworth.

SOUTHERN SECTION

Long Beach Poly 34, Millikan 3

Herschel Dennis gained 128 yards in 14 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead the Jackrabbits in the Moore League victory.

St. Paul 25, Bishop Amat 9

German Arias gained 122 yards in 31 carries and scored two touchdowns in Del Rey League as the Swordsmen defeated the Lancers for the first time since 1981.

Charter Oak 20, Hacienda Heights Wilson 14

Jason David gained 109 yards and scored two touchdowns and intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter to preserve the Marmonte League victory at Wilson.

Mayfair 44, Bellflower 0

Running back Mike Williams gained 168 yards in 34 carries and scored five touchdowns to lead the Monsoons to the Suburban League victory at Bellflower.

J.W. North 24, Riverside Poly 17

Desmond Daniels scored on a 15-yard run in the third overtime to give the Huskies the Ivy League victory at UC Riverside.

Cantwell-Sacred Heart 48, St. Genevieve 0

Brian Pravium completed 17 of 24 passes for 416 yards and six touchdowns for the Cardinals in a Camino Real League

Montebello 27, Schurr 0

Mike Robles passed for 177 yards and a touchdown and Sal Gutierrez had four receptions for 101 yards for the Oilers in an Almont League victory.
