OUTLOOK

The Hawks forfeited five victories because they used an ineligible player because of an administrative error; it cost them the Pacific Coast League title, a playoff berth and a chance to defend their section championship. They did beat league champion Aliso Niguel, 12-10, and now go into a new league alongside the Wolverines as underdogs. Champlin is the league’s only quarterback with varsity experience, but establishing an effective running game with Allen and Chandler will be critical. However, only one starter returns to the offensive line, Viglione. There will be additional pressure on the defense to develop quickly, with Lamas and Dixon anchoring.
