SECURED FOR GOOD

This security device, originally designed for motorcycles, will keep your lawn mower, grill, ladder and other equipment where they belong.

The Taffynackles Engineering LockDown ($139, Model 6600) attaches to any solid surface and serves as an anchor for padlocks and chain, “U” and cable locks.

Lag screws attach the chrome-finished steel ring to decks or truck beds.

The LockDown comes with masonry anchor sleeves for attaching to a garage floor or other masonry surfaces. A matching chrome ring hides the bolt heads and is held in place by the lock you use with the ring.

TAG-ALONG TOOL CHEST

Keep tools close at hand and neatly organized with the Professional Work Center ($199, Model 65495) from Craftsman.

The five-drawer tool chest is equipped with four large casters for smooth rolling around the garage, workshop or driveway.

The 39-inch-tall work center features a tough galvanized-steel top that’s impervious to motor oil, paint thinner, grease, wood stains and most other caustic substances.

The 21-by-33-inch steel top slides to the left or right for easy access to the divided storage well below. A tough plastic bumper surrounds the top of the unit and serves as the handle and a small-parts storage tray. There are even a couple of drink holders.

AN EXTRA SET OF HANDS

The Border Hold-Up ($20) from Dripless Inc. does the job of a helper when you’re installing wallpaper borders.

The device holds rolled wet or pasted borders up to 14 inches deep in place while you smooth a section on the wall.

Sharp points anchor it to drywall while you work. When you’re ready to move on, unroll the border and reposition the tool. The small holes are covered by the border. You’ll find the device at paint and wallpaper stores.
