Crescenta Valley 48, Simi Valley 6--Playing without five injured starters, including Calvin Bell, the Pioneers were no match for the Falcons in a nonleague game at Simi Valley.

Crescenta Valley (2-1) was led by junior Jason Hogan, who caught eight passes for 174 yards, including touchdown receptions of 24 and 44 yards.

Scott Vossmeyer completed 11 of 17 passes for 229 yards and three touchdowns. He also connected with Steve Carballo for a 40-yard score and ran two yards for a touchdown.

Running back Wes Jones of Crescenta Valley carried 15 times for 181 yards, including touchdown runs of four and 13 yards.

Simi Valley (0-3) was led by Ben Santiago, who connected on 18 of 32 passes for 266 yards, including 10 to twin Julian Santiago for 189 yards. They hooked up on a 68-yard scoring pass in the second quarter that cut it to 14-6.
