Customer Hurt When Car Crashes Into Store Window
A convenience store customer was struck and injured Saturday when a 1970 station wagon barreled into the business, police investigators said.
William D. Jones, 56, of La Palma was trying to back his vehicle out of a parking space about 11 a.m. when his accelerator got stuck, Police Sgt. Jim Wells said.
His vehicle crashed through the front window of the 7-Eleven in the 8400 block of Moody Street, striking a 42-year-old La Palma woman entering the store at the same time, Wells said.
The woman, Marianne Casey, suffered lacerations and possible broken bones, Wells said.
She was treated at the scene and taken to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, Wells said.
The driver was not cited. Police continued to investigate.
