From Staff Reports

Roy Moon of Royal High, who tied for second in the CIF-Southern California Golf Assn. championships at the SCGA Members’ Club in Murrieta in June, has committed to UCLA.

Moon, a 6-foot, 195-pound senior, shot a three-under-par 69 in the CIF-SCGA championships. He finished fifth in the Southern Section final, and he won the Marmonte League title with a three-over-par 285 for four rounds.

“It’s a big stress relief,” Moon said of his decision. “Because if I didn’t [commit] to a good school by the start of the season, I would be stressing out and putting pressure on myself to play well.”
