Tang, Liang Win U.S. National Badminton Titles

Top-seeded Yeping Tang of Maryland defeated Elie Wu of Alhambra, 11-2, 11-2, in the women’s singles final of the U.S. National Badminton Championships at the Orange County Badminton Club in Orange Sunday.

Second-seeded Alex Liang of San Gabriel won the men’s singles final by default because of an injury to Kevin Han of Colorado Springs.

Wu teamed with Janis Tan to win the women’s doubles title and Chibing Wu of Elmhurst, N.Y., won both the men’s and mixed doubles championships, teaming with Mathew Fogarty for the men’s title and with Melinda Kesthelyi of Fountain Valley for the mixed title.
