Fullerton Earns Split in San Diego

Kristy Osborne had two hits and scored two runs to help Cal State Fullerton defeat San Diego State, 3-2, in the second game of a nonconference softball doubleheader Sunday in San Diego.

Brenda Iglesias and Monica Lucatero drove in runs for the Titans (31-11), ranked 16th in the nation. Fullerton pitcher Jodie Cox improved to 13-3 and Christy Robitaille pitched three innings of scoreless relief to earn the save.

Sandra Durazo, who took the loss in the second game, pitched a three-hitter in the first game to help San Diego State win, 1-0. The Aztecs are 22-22.

In Big West Conference women’s tennis:

UC Irvine 8, UC Santa Barbara 1--Visiting Irvine dominated the match between conference leaders, winning 10 of 12 singles sets and all three doubles sets. Jonni Seymour won at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-0, for Irvine (14-5, 5-0). Santa Barbara is 12-6, 5-1.
