Ventura County prosecutors filed charges Monday against three alleged members of the local chapter of the Hells Angels who are accused of assaulting an Oak View resident last week.

Sabian Reynoso, 23, Michael Kapp, 27, and Brian Applegate, 25, all appeared Monday in Ventura County Superior Court to answer the charges. But the case was postponed to April 18 to allow Reynoso and Applegate to retain lawyers.

Reynoso is charged with attempted murder, assault, robbery and making terrorist threats. Applegate is charged with burglary and grand theft. And Kapp is charged with assault, robbery and making terrorist threats.

Investigators say the three men broke into a residence in the 600 block of Larmier Street, beat up the victim during a dispute over drugs and stabbed the man several times as he fled, Deputy Dist. Atty. Roger Inman said.

During Monday’s arraignment, attorney Moriya Christie urged Judge Art Gutierrez to reduce bail for all three suspects, who were each held over the weekend in lieu of $1-million bond.

However, Inman argued that the serious allegations justify the high bail. Gutierrez agreed, saying “I have to assume for the purposes of bail that these charges are true.”

Outside court, Hells Angels leader George Christie said authorities are not telling the full story. He said the residence where the assault occurred is shared by two of the suspects and the victim, whom he described as an associate of the Hells Angels.
