Hargrove’s 5 RBIs Power Victory, 10-6

Harvey Hargrove had three hits and drove in five runs Monday for the JetHawks (4-1), who defeated the Modesto A’s, 10-6, in a California League game in Modesto (2-3).

Willie Bloomquist had four hits for Lancaster, which scored five runs in the seventh to take a 9-4 lead. Craig Kuzmic highlighted the outburst with a two-run double.

Four JetHawk pitchers combined on a shutout in a 4-0 victory over Modesto on Sunday. Starter Josue Matos went five innings in his Cal League debut, allowing one hit and striking out seven.

Julio Ayala pitched two innings of relief, giving up two hits and striking out three. Cody Morrison issued a walk and gave up no hits in the eighth before Brandon Parker closed the game for his second save of the season.

Bloomquist drove in two runs with a triple and outfielder P.J. Williams hit his second home run of the season.
