Oxnard 5, Grace Brethren 2--Alex Merricks did not allow a run or a hit in five innings for Oxnard (10-3) in a Channel Islands tournament round-robin game at Oxnard.
Merricks (3-1) struck out six and walked two.
Calabasas 31, Azusa 4--Evan Tuchman and Jesse Michel each tripled twice and had three RBIs for Calabasas (9-5-1), which had 34 hits in a first-round game of the Gladstone tournament called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.
