Katella 10, Century 4--Pitcher Jon Lorenzen had three hits, including a solo home run, and drove in two runs. He also got the victory with nine strikeouts for the Knights (7-9, 3-6).
In the Orange League:
Brea Olinda 23, Anaheim 10 (6, mercy)--Nick Stagnero went three for three, including a double and a triple, and drove in four runs for visiting Brea Olinda (9-7, 6-3). Mike Davern (5-1) struck out nine and gave up two earned runs in five innings for the Wildcats.
No. 7 Valencia 9, Savanna 8--Chris Van Camp singled in Matt Reese with the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth for host Valencia (11-4, 7-2). Van Kamp had two hits, two RBIs, two stolen bases and scored a run, and Shawn Wright hit a home run, drove in three runs, scored three and stole two bases for the Tigers.
In the Olympic League:
Cerritos Valley Christian 9, Orange Lutheran 8--The host Crusaders (8-6-1, 7-2) scored three unearned runs in the fifth to make Matt Milner (1-0) the winner. Orange Lutheran (4-11, 4-5) committed four errors.
Calvary Chapel 15, Brethren Christian 1 (5, mercy)--Kyle Christensen struck out nine in four innings to get the victory and Ben Linn had three hits and three RBIs for host Calvary Chapel (10-4, 8-1).
In the Pacific Coast League:
No. 4 University 10, Costa Mesa 0 (6, mercy)--Jairo Ochoa pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts for visiting University (12-3, 6-0). Matt Stone had three hits and scored four runs and Zach Sherwood had two hits with three RBIs for the Trojans.
In a nonleague game:
Mater Dei 7, Los Angeles Roosevelt 3--Mike Harris hit a RBI double in the fifth inning to tie the score and added a run-scoring single in the sixth to lead the host Monarchs (11-6). Anthony Slama (2-3) pitched a three-hitter and struck out four.
