DiMartino Wins Singles and Doubles Tennis Titles

David DiMartino of Saddleback beat teammate Brock Berry to win the singles title, then teamed with Berry to beat another Saddleback duo for the doubles championship in the Orange Empire Conference men’s tennis finals at Saddleback Saturday.

DiMartino defeated Berry, 6-1, 6-2, then DiMartino and Berry defeated Saddleback teammates Arif Hasan and Jon Lippert, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.

In the women’s singles final, Heidi Ohanesian of Fullerton defeated Karen Amos of Saddleback, 6-4, 2-6, 6-1. Amos and Sara Jex beat Riverside’s Coral Conley and Cassie Sumrow, 7-5, 6-4.

In Orange Empire Conference baseball:

Golden West 7, Saddleback 5--Jeremy Hanson had a two-run single with two outs in the top of the ninth to lead Golden West (17-16, 8-11) to victory.

Orange Coast 7, Riverside 5--Eric Wiethorn doubled in Chris Laws with the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth for visiting Orange Coast (12-20, 6-12).

Santa Ana 12, Fullerton 5--C.J. Wilson pitched his first complete game of the season for host Santa Ana (26-4-1, 15-4). Wilson struck out six, and allowed five hits and three earned runs.
