A magnitude-3.2 earthquake struck the Inyo County desert Sunday afternoon, but no damage or injuries were reported.

The temblor at 2:32 p.m. was centered six miles southeast of Coso Junction, said Sue Hough, a U.S. Geological Survey seismologist at Caltech in Pasadena.

It was a new earthquake and not an aftershock to any previous quake, Hough said.

Coso Junction is 140 miles north of Los Angeles.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage, said Frank Bumgarner, a dispatcher in the Inyo County sheriff’s office.
