Kings Looking for a Brighter Future

Share

Since the Kings made it to the Stanley Cup finals in 1993, they haven’t won a playoff game. Coincidentally, that is when the Kings decided to start this “Blackout” idea.

Not only does this look bad on television, the idea hasn’t won us one playoff game. Let’s “White-Out” this idea from now on.

I have to take issue with the April 22 letter from Howard Cohen when he states that Larry Robinson was “an excellent coach.” I beg to differ.

An excellent coach doesn’t continually give ice time to players who aren’t playing up to their capabilities, which is exactly what Robinson did. The Kings need a man such as Andy Murray, who holds players accountable when they struggle.

Boy, how greedy can you get? Let’s stop this King bashing now.

Before the season, the Kings were picked to finish last and were considered one of the worst teams in hockey. Not only did they finish fifth in the conference, but they had their fourth-best record of all time.

They did this with a former high school coach with limited NHL experience.

Then they drew a team that has won two of the last three Stanley Cups and is coached by Scotty Bowman, the best that ever was.

Sure they got swept, but they have to learn playoff hockey is different.

King management was so right to ask fans to dress in black. It was proper attire for a team that played as if it were at a funeral.
