Sorce, who led the Estancia sophomore team to Pacific Coast League titles in each of his five seasons, had been interim coach of the varsity program since Cook left shortly after being hired June 27.

Cook, a former assistant at Newport Harbor, changed his mind two days after he accepted the Estancia job and left the position, said Estancia Athletic Director Tim Parsel.
