Rangers Present ‘Porch Talks’
National Park Service Rangers will lead free interactive programs called “ranger porch talks” throughout August.
The discussions will take place on the porch at the Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center in Newbury Park. Participants will learn about indigenous plant uses, hear stories and perform activities such as rock painting.
To participate, visit the center any Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rangers will give porch talks every hour for 30 minutes. The center is open on weekends only.
For directions, call: 375-1930. For more information on the series, call: 370-2301.
