Students to Exhibit Multimedia Projects

Share

Participants in an annual multimedia workshop at Moorpark College will exhibit their electronic productions at a reception at the college today.

Planned presentations by the high school juniors, seniors and recent graduates include computer animated videos, a movie trailer and a host of Web site designs.

In the intensive 10-day CyberSummer workshop, students received hands-on training in multimedia production--the combining of film, video, text, audio and computer animation. Students worked in groups of four or five to develop the projects that will be showcased this afternoon.

Last week, the teens visited Los Angeles-based Rhythm & Hues, the animation and visual effects studio that worked on the movie “Babe,” and the special effects division at Santa Monica Studios.

The multimedia program, which this year drew nearly 50 teens from Ventura County, is taught by faculty members from the county’s three community colleges and industry professionals.

The reception is scheduled for 3 to 5 p.m. at the Black Box Theater on the Moorpark campus. For more information, call 378-1405.
