Elderly Pedestrian Killed by Hit-Run Driver
A woman described as an elderly Latina was killed Friday morning by a motorist who fled the scene, according to police officials.
The woman, who was not identified pending notification of her family, was crossing Van Nuys Boulevard at the intersection of Kewen Avenue when she was struck by a dark green car that police say was probably either a Saturn or a Honda.
The driver was described by the Los Angeles Police Department as a female Latina, approximately 25 years old.
The victim was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, where she was pronounced dead.
