Shots at Holyfield Are Sucker Punches
I resent Steve Springer’s tone when he writes about Evander Holyfield. Evander deserves better than sneers and put-downs.
I want to see hard-fought, evenly matched fights between true warriors, and Evander has been the greatest warrior of our era.
Sure, he’s past his prime, but in the ring he embodies what’s good about boxing.

It was obvious Steve Springer did not watch the Holyfield-Ruiz fight. Otherwise he would have reported that it was one of the worst decisions since the Holyfield-Lewis draw.
The boxing people didn’t want to see Ruiz win, because who would pay to see Ruiz fight anyone else?
Now Showtime or HBO can make millions on a Holyfield-Tyson fight.
