Quartz Hill Woman Killed When Her Car Is Broadsided in Intersection

LANCASTER — A Quartz Hill woman was killed Saturday night when her Honda Civic collided with another Civic in a rural area near Lancaster.
A Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department spokesman said Patricia Lee Dranow, 37, died of injuries suffered after her car was broadsided by a car driven by 19-year-old Chrystal Pekarski of Lancaster.
The crash occurred about 9 p.m. at Avenue J and 40th Street West.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, Dranow was northbound on 40th Street West when she drove through a stop sign and her car was hit by Pekarski’s, which was eastbound on Avenue J.
Both women were taken to Antelope Valley Hospital, where Dranow died. Pekarski suffered a minor shoulder injury and reported chest pain.
