CARSON — Three people were hurt during a Samoan festival in Victoria Park, authorities said.
The injuries happened about 10:30 p.m. Thursday after an argument over a rugby match deteriorated into a fight involving 20 people at the park on 192nd Street east of Main Street, said Lt. Michael O’Shea of the Los Angeles County police.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies and county police responded to the incident, he said.
During the fight, some people threw rocks and bottles and someone fired a gun into the air, although no one was hurt by the bullet, O’Shea said.
Two people were taken from the scene, possibly by friends, to UC Irvine Medical Center and to a hospital in Garden Grove. O’Shea said they were treated and released.
