Players who left Sunday’s NFL games with injuries:

* MIKE ANDERSON, Denver--Bronco running back was helped off field because of an injury to his left knee in third quarter in 38-23 victory over the New Orleans Saints. He returned in the fourth quarter to complete a record rushing effort by a rookie with 251 yards.

* KORDELL STEWART, Pittsburgh--Steeler quarterback suffered a knee injury in the first quarter of 21-20 victory over the Oakland Raiders. He was the ninth opposing quarterback this season to be knocked out of a game by the Raiders or to be injured severely enough to miss his team’s next game. Stewart returned in the second half to pass for a touchdown and run for one.

* LESLIE SHEPHERD, Miami--Dolphin wide receiver suffered the most serious injury (to his right knee) of five Miami players who left the 33-6 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Also injured were defensive end Jason Taylor (right hand contusion), tackle Todd Wade (left calf), cornerback Jerry Wilson (right ankle) and linebacker Twan Russell (left ankle sprain).

* FERNANDO BRYANT, Jacksonville--Jaguar suffered a high left ankle sprain in 48-0 victory over the Cleveland Browns.

* RODNEY HEATH, Cincinnati--Bengal cornerback suffered a shoulder injury in 21-13 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

* MICHAEL DUMAS, San Diego--Charger safety broke his right leg in 45-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

* LANCE SCHULTERS, San Francisco--49er safety tore a ligament in his right knee.

* STEVE McNAIR, Tennessee--Titan quarterback wisted his right knee and ankle and limped off the field in the third quarter of 15-13 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. He returned for the next series.
