* PEPPERDINE (3-2) AT LONG BEACH STATE (3-3), 7:30, Fox Sports Net 2, KPLS (830)--The 49ers suffered a major blow in learning that senior center Rudy Williams must sit out the rest of the season. Williams had off-season surgery on both legs and his pain has not subsided. He was averaging 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in six games. Junior reserve forward Vance Lawhorn will also redshirt, healing from knee surgery a month ago. The 49ers are left with only two true inside players, Travis Reed and Grant Stone. Pepperdine is led by junior guard Brandon Armstrong with a 17.2-scoring average. The Waves may be a tired team. Their flight out of Atlanta was canceled after their loss to Georgia on Sunday and they had to sit for several hours.
