No. 2 Brea Olinda 63, No. 10 Foothill 54--Kristen Mann’s 16-foot jumper gave Foothill a 52-46 lead with 2:55 remaining, but Brea reeled off 17 consecutive points to steal a second-round victory. Brea’s rally was sparked by consecutive steals by Jennifer Katsuyama, who had five steals, Lauren Petersen and Jenny Skrifvars. Jackie Lord and Tara Hefferly, who scored 19 apiece, each scored four in the rally, and Kelly Agrelius scored all six of her points in the decisive span. Mann, the county’s leading scorer, scored 37, including 25 in the first half as Foothill (5-1) took a 30-26 lead.

No. 8 Irvine 76, Torrance Bishop Montgomery 49--Kristin Thawley had 22 points and 15 rebounds, Ali Grechko had 18 points and eight assists and Staci Morita also scored 18 points for Irvine (2-0).

In the South Coast tournament:

No. 5 Esperanza 55, Villa Park 30--Laura Jacobsen scored 15 and the defense of Esperanza (2-1) held Villa Park to 14 points through the first three quarters.

San Clemente 83, El Modena 48--Kristin Jenkins scored a game-high 22 points for San Clemente (3-0), which outscored El Modena, 43-16, in the second half.

Santa Margarita 43, Laguna Hills 26--Garland Cooper had 16 points and 14 rebounds and the Eagles held Megan Aaker to seven points for the second-round victory.

In the Troy NJB girls’ basketball tournament:

Capistrano Valley 44, L.A. Pilgrim 42--Lindsay Peloza made nine of 15 shots and scored 26 points to lead Capistrano Valley (3-3) into the semifinals.

Corona del Mar 52, Bell Gardens 48--Kristin McCoy scored 18 and had 10 rebounds for Corona del Mar (3-0).

No. 7 Huntington Beach 48, Orange Lutheran 46--The Oilers (2-0) overcame a seven-point deficit in the third quarter as Lauren Murray scored six of her eight points in the fourth. Amy Sanders scored 27.

Santa Ana Valley 60, La Habra 45--Crystal Davis’ 22 points led Santa Ana Valley (5-2) in its second-round game.
