Mother Identifies Body of Runaway

FAIRFIELD, Calif. — The body of a 13-year-old girl has been identified, 13 years after she died in a car crash in Solano County.
The girl has been identified as Beth Warren, who had run away from her mother’s home in Orlando, Fla., three months before she died in Solano County. Investigators said Warren drove a car off a highway into a tree.
“There was a slight sense of relief in that I finally knew what had happened to her,” said mother Vickie Ply, who now lives in Pyatt, Ark.
The case was reopened this summer after coroner’s investigators went through the list of never-identified victims.
Investigators found a description of Warren last week in the National Crime Information Center database. Ply was then contacted to identify photos of the Jane Doe killed 13 years earlier.
“I knew immediately it was my daughter. I recognized her face. I started to cry,” Ply said.
