Ohio State’s depth at receiver could be tested in the Outback Bowl.

The Buckeyes’ leading receiver, Ken-Yon Rambo, has a cast on his left hand but is expected to play in the New Year’s Day game against South Carolina.

Coach John Cooper refused to discuss the injury, in keeping with his policy of not disclosing injuries that are incurred anywhere but in a game.

The Columbus Dispatch said the senior co-captain has a hairline fracture of a bone in the hand, though it wasn’t clear whether it happened during practice.

“From what I’ve been told, he probably will play in the bowl game,” Cooper said.

Ohio State earlier declared senior receiver Reggie Germany academically ineligible to play in the bowl because of a fall quarter in which he reportedly failed to pass any course.
