Man, 22, Killed After Crash Into Pole
A 22-year-old man was killed Friday evening after he lost control of his car and struck a light pole on Tampa Avenue near the 118 freeway, police said.
No one else was involved in the 6 p.m. accident, said Sgt. Don Kelly of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.
It is unclear why the man lost control or whether alcohol or drugs were involved, Kelly said.
The man was driving alone southbound on Tampa when his car spun into the median and hit the light pole, Kelly said. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police withheld his identity pending family notification.
